Bodleian Library Oxford wedding - Vincent & Alexia

Bodleian Library wedding photos

Oxford University wedding photography

The Bodleian Library was definitely one of the highlight wedding venues of my summer this year. It was such a privilege to photograph Vincent and Alexia’s wedding day in this epic historic building. The sweltering heatwave temperatures felt slightly out of place in these old English surroundings. We started off with getting ready photos at the Courtyard by Marriott Hotel - both Vincent and Alexia were getting ready there, so I was able to capture some photos of both of them during this time.

Their ceremony took place in the stunning Convocation House of the Library. I absolutely adored the lighting in this room, it made such a wonderful backdrop and had a real intimate vibe, which I think is so perfect for a wedding ceremony. After the ceremony and a few family photos, we enjoyed a little wander around the nearby buildings and streets - so many options for photos, I really had to rein myself in, so the two of them could to back to having a drink with their guests before dinner! We were also lucky enough to be allowed up into the old library for a few shots - Harry Potter fans will recognise this - and it’s honestly a very unique and atmospheric place.

The reception took place back downstairs in the divinity school with more awe inspiring architecture to get excited about and a wonderful dinner and speeches.
