Sofia & Harry's wedding at York House and The Ivy Richmond

York House Wedding Photography

Sofia and Harry’s April wedding at York House was my first full day wedding of the season and what a stunner! With around 30 guests during the day, it was a wonderfully intimate day, starting off with getting ready photos at Sofia’s beautiful family home in Teddington surrounded by her family and friends and excited (or catatonic! :)) doggies.

We then jumped in a cab to York House, which is Richmond’s pretty registry office for their ceremony. I love the gardens and riverside at this venue and spring was just starting to come to life. After family photos a toast by the river, we went for a little walk with Sofia and Harry combining some cool industrial backdrops with the beautiful garden setting at York House. I always love a bit of variety in backdrops for my couple photos.

Their guests had travelled ahead to The Ivy in Richmond, and we joined them soon after for drinks, canapes and lunch in the gorgeously colourful Isabella Room. I thought the room was absolutely perfect for the number of guests and the afternoon had a lovely cozy feel. The cocktails were flowing freely and were looking absolutely delicious - I’ll definitely be back another time when I’m off duty to sample!

After lunch and more cocktails, we headed down to the river, where a hundred or so of their friends were waiting to join them for a party boat cruise on the Thames. Another brilliant confetti moment amongst the slight chaos of Richmond’s Saturday nightlife, before I waved them off to party on.
